The manor house, the park and the people in it

A baroque manor house on the edge of Veľký Meder that has kept the heritage of Rye Island (Žitný ostrov) and opened it to guests.

About the manor house

Why it is called a kúria

A kúria is a manor house, the country seat of a noble family. This one stands on the edge of Veľký Meder in the middle of a park, and in its scale, its look and its spirit it keeps the cultural heritage and traditions of Rye Island.

Today it is a family hotel with 13 rooms and suites in seven types. The house, the park and the farmstead are an attraction in their own right. The Thermal Corvinus thermal baths are 700 metres from the gate.

The building

A baroque manor house with a columned portico, a balcony and arcades. The interior is furnished in the spirit of older times, with the accent on calm and craft rather than hotel polish.

The park

35,000 m² with mature trees, a lake with a jetty and fishing, a lookout tower, a rose pergola, a gazebo and sports grounds. It is open to our guests all day.

The farmstead

Horses, a farmyard of traditional Rye Island animals and a wooden barn. Riding for beginners and fishing on our own lake are things nobody else in the area offers.

Art in the manor house

Paintings by contemporary artists hang on the walls and the manor house has a gallery of its own, which guests are welcome to look around. Open-air painting sessions are held in the grounds.

The family

The manor house is looked after by a family, not a chain. We know our guests by name, the kitchen cooks from scratch and we drive you to the baths or the station ourselves.
